The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were M�yor Woods, �ldermen Vandevent�r, Huber, Pirkle,
znd Benedict. Alderm�n Park�r being absent.
The minutes of the previous m�eting was read znd approved as resd.
Alderman Pirkle reported that �r. Long and Mr. Tindle had decided
not to bring their property within the City �t this time.
The proposed budget for 1963-64 was gone over by the council .
A motion by �lderman Pirkle, seconded by �lderman Vandeventer
to stt the timeand place of public hearing an the budget for the
fiscal ye�r beginning October 1 , 1963, �nd ending September 30,
1964, for 7 :30 P.M. at its regulzr meeting on the 17th day of
�epte�ber, 1963, at the City Hall in said City. Moti �n carried
by Aldermen Afandeventer, Huber, Pir�le, and Benedict voting yes
with no noes.
� motion by Alderman Huber, seconded by Alderman Benedict
zuthorizing $20.00 per month for car expense to the City Secretary
in the place of the present .07� per m31e now atithorized for
using persanal car in City Business effective October 1 , 1963.

voti ng ye s wi th no noe s.
A motion by Alderm�n Huber, secanded by Alderman Pirkle to extend
tbe summer water rates thru the September billing period of 1963.
Moti�n carried by Aldermsn B�nedict, Pirkle , Huber znd Vandeventer
voting yes with no noes.
Proposals were r�ceived on blzck topping the Parking areas around
the Fir� Station and Wat�r pump station on Mzin, E. Wall , Jenkins,
and E. Texas streets:

Item 31�0 for �1.21� per sqaure yard.

To furnish all labor, material and equipment to shape
existing gravel base, apply a prime coat and lay 1�"
of hot mix asphaltic concr�te surface on the parking
areas for a unit price of �1 .0� per square yard. Any
addititanal base material ne�ded will be furnished by
others.
A moti�n by Alderma►� Pirkle, s�conded by Alderman Benedict to
accept the R. w. Gibbins, Inc. proposal ta black top the parking
area around the Fire Stati �n and Water pnmp stztion with a
minnium of 1�" thic�C concrete aspi�alt. Motion carried by AY�rmen
Ben�dict, Huber, Pirkle, and Vandeventer voting yes with no noes.
Discussion wzs given on annex�ting the col�red section of tA�xx
town.
