HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-10-01 Regular Meeting October 1, 1963 The City Council met in regular session on the above date those present were Mayor Woods, Aldermen Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle, and Benedict. The minutes of th� previous meeting was read and approved as read. Mr. Don Dickens of Freese, Nic hols and Endress, consulting engineers , met with the councii to explain the preliminary pl�ns of the Lanca�ter �s in regard to openi►Zq Azalea Drive in the Ridgecrest Additbn, covering the water a�d sewer li�es, the streets and the water drainage of the area. A motion by Alderman Vandeveneter, seconded by Hlderman Pirkle to accept the preliminary plans of the opening of �zalea Drive, piacing the water and sewer lines, streets and drainagein the Ridgec�est Addition. Motion carried by tilderma� Pa�ker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle and Benedict voting yes with no noes. Dr. Ed. �ancaster ask the counvil for their permission to start with the leveling work for the proposed tennis court in the City Park and also ask that the city contribute additional money to the construction of the tennis court. Also a resolution will be written authori2ing the Grapevine Tennis Associatio� to use the City Park for the construction of a tennis court to be used by the public under the supervision of the Grapevine Tennis pssociation. A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Benedict to give the Grapevine Tennis p�sociation permission to begin work on the construction of the tennis courts in the City Park and also authori2e an additional �250.00 toward the corstruction of the Tennis court in the City Park. Making the total of �500.00 toward the aonstruction of the tennis courts in the park. Motion carried by Alderman Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer, and Parker voting yes with no noes. The council instructed Chief Greener that only firemeq would be allowed to ride in or on the City �s Fire Equipment. A motion by Alderman Benedict, seconded by Alderman Huber to adopt and pass Ordinance # 63-12 on prohibiting pool halls in the City Limits of Grapevine. Motion carried by Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noes. .-�, A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Benedict to have an engineering firm or the builders to inspect the overhead water storage tank and advise the conditinn of the tank and recoalmend any repairs that might be needed to the tank. Motion carried by Alderman Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes wfth no noes. A motion byr Alderman Parker, seconded by Alderman Benedict to raise Mrs Jordan and Mrs Lavenders salary ten dollars a month for each one, effective October 1 , 1963. Motion carried by Alderman Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle, and Benedict voting ye s eith no noes. Prices for Chlorinators for the two city wells from the followfng companies are as follows: BIF Industries TWo Model 8l�6 Chlorini2er with accessories for a total price of �1 ,535.00. Wallace & Tiernan, Inc. 'Itivo Series A-741 Semi-Automatic V-Notch wall raounting ChlDrinators with accessories for a total price of �62,011.00. A motion by A1dePman Huber, seconded by Alderman Pirkle to purchase two model 846 Chlorinizers from BIF Industries for a total surn of $1 ,535.00.
