HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-12-03 Regular Meeting December 3, t963 The �ity Conncil met in regular session on the above date those present were Mayor Woods, Hldermen Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer and Parker. The minutes of the previous meeting was read a�d approved as read. Bids for repainting and repairing the overhead water storage tank wss opened and are as follows: 1 . Water Tank Service Co. 10760 Sha dy Tra i 1 Dallas 20, Texas Will require 42 calendar days to do the ,�ob at a total price of �5,240.00 2. Randa 1 Sha rp P.o. Box 8596 Oklahema City, Okia. Will require 35 calendar days to do the �job at a total price of �9,995.00. 3. Virginia Erection Co. � Mrt. Ed. Michalek Venus, Texas Will require 42 calender days to do the �job at a total price of �7,342.50. A motion by Aldeman Huber, seconded by Alderman Benedict to have the engineers study these bids and give the councii their recommendations. Motion carried by Alderman Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle and Benedict voting yes with oo noes. Mr. Jackie Keener at 118 N. Main Strett has ask for dadages due to a break in a water line crossing the south side of his property. Mr. Keener states that the water caused his house to settle and crack the sheet rock on the inside of the house. R'he council could find no negligence on the part of the city and had no proof that the water caused the damage to his house and �t did not feel that the City was responsible. A motion by Alderman Pirkle, seconded by Al�erman Benedict to amend our water rate ordiance #61-20 to rea� as follows: "When three ( 3) or more apartments or trailer park units are serviced through one ( 1) meter, the minimum per unit shall be 4/5�s of the regular minimum prescribed for a single service. This ad,justed ,-� ' rate is for the purpose of establishing a more equitable rate for ,joint users wherein the nuraber of occupants or families fluctuates from month to month. Motion carried by Aldermen Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle , and Benedict voting �es with no noes. A truck route around the underpass on Highway 121 and the additional signs on the highway with "Grapeving" on the signs at each end of the loop aronnd town was dscussed. �1 motion by l�lderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Parker to ask for bids on a police patrol car to replace the 1962 Chevrolet Police car. Motion carried by �lderman Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noes. Mr. Earl Jordan submitted a price for his 115 gallon asphalt kettle if the city was interested in i�xt�Cta� buying or aa3�tt��x trading fori it. He has asked �300.00 for the kettle.
