AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3, CHAPTER l,
SECTION 1 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, SO AS TO ADOPT A COM-
PREI�ENSIVE BUILDING CODE, TO BE KNOWN AS
THE AIRPORT BUILDING CODE FOR THE PURPOSE
OF ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR
THE LOCATION AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS
AND STRUCTURES WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF
THE DALLAS-FORT WORTH REGIONAL AIRPORT;
PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PRO-
� VIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City Building Code for the City of Grapevine,

Texas is known as the Uniform Building Code, 1970 Edition, and
each succeeding revision thereof; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional
Airport within the city limits of the cities of Grapevine,
Irving, and Euless , has created special building and construc-
tion requirements for that portion of the city; and
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Airport Committee has
recommended that the city of Grapevine, Texas adopt a Uniform
Airport Building Code for the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Air-

port;
� Now, Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE:
Section 1
THAT Title 3, Chapter l, Section 1 of the City Code of the
city of Grap evine, Texas is hereby ammended to adopt a seperate
section to be known as the Airport Building Code for the purpose
of establishing rules and regulations for the construction,
alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy,
location and maintenance of buildings and structures within the
„�,�, boundaries of the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Airport. A copy of
said Code, written on 594 pages, has been filed with the office
�. of the Clerk, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated
as fully as if set out at length herein and the provisions there-
of shall be controlling in the construction of all buildings and
structures only within the boundaries of the Dallas-Fort Worth
Regional Airport

Section 2
IF any section, paragraph� subdivision, clause, phase or
provision of this ordinance shall be invalid or unconstitutional,
the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a
whole or any part of the provisions thereof though the parts so
� decided to be invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 3
� THE fact that the construction has already begun of several
structures at the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Airport, causing a
hazard affecting the general welfare of the citizens of the city
of Grapevine, creates an urgency and an emergency in the preser-
vation of the comfort and general welfare, and a public
necessity that the rule requiring this ordinance to be read on
two several occasions be and the same is hereby waived and this
ordinance shall now be placed on second and final reading of its
passage, and shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval and the date of publication.
