The City Cfluncil met in a ca21 sessic�n on Lhe above date those
present wer Mayar Waods, Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle, Vandevent�r,
and Farker. A2derman Huber being absent.
Applications for wark in Lhe Water, Sewer anfl StreeL Department and
the Palice Departmeqt was cansidered by the Caunc�l.
A motion by Aldermart Firk2e , SeCOtlded by Alderman Vandeventer ta hire
Mr. H. T. Tucker to begin wc�rk in the Water, �ewer and Street
departme nt at a starting sa2ary o1` �3(}4,flt} per month and ta begin
work at ance. Motion carried by Alderman Parker, Vandeventer, Pirkle
and BenedicL votying yes with no noes.
Mr. Bill Stane was interviewed by the council to work in the Falice
De�artm�nt as an additional patra2rnan.
A motion by Alderman Farker, secanded by Alderman Benedict to hire
Mr. �ill S�one to work in the Police departmer�t as a patrolman at a
starting salary of �32�.Q4 per mortth for three months on a probation
periad if satisfactary with the city and Mr. Stone he will go ot work
on �, Permenant basis and his salary wfll be raised Lo �35Q.Qfl per mortth.
He wi31 get $20.00 per month as uniform allawance and wiil be entitled
to a one week paid vacation after serving or completeing one year of
service and after completing two years af servtce wi2i be entitled ta
a twa week paid vacatian. Motian carried by Alderman Parker, Vandeventer,
Pf rkle a�id Benedict voting yes with no noes.
A motion by A2derman Pirk2e , seconc3ed by A2derman Parker to have the
Chevrolet Garbage truck repaired by repiacing the transmissiort, clutch,
and pressure plate and other small repe�irs if needed at an apgroxfmate
cast of $35Q.00. Also to ha ve the packer bed o�i�"hau2ed and repainted
at an approximate cast af ��50.00 by Habb� Trailer Co. Moti�n carried
by x2derman Parker, Vandeventer, Pirkle and Benedict vot�t�g� yea with
no noes.
