December 1 , 1964
The City Council met in regular session on the above dtte those
present were Mayor '�Voods, Aldermen Benedict , Pirkle , Huber and
Vandeventer. Alderman Par�er being abseht.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read.
A motion by Alderman Vandeventer, seconded by Alderman Pir�le to
accept Burroughs Corp. bid in the amount of $5,317.00 for a
business machine model F-"11�03 Typing sensimatic. Motion carried
by Alderman Vandeventer, Hub�er, Pirkle and Benedi�t voting yes with
no noes.
Mayor reported he had received a check in the amount of �206.00
given to him for the Fire Department from the Horsemen Holiday
Show that was presented on November 1L4., 1964.
Mr. Huley Higgens is working on getting the colored people to dedicate
a street in the colored section of the town.
Discussi�n was given on the supervisi�n of street crossings for the
school children.
A motion by Alderman PirYcle , seconded by Alderman Benedict to
adopt Texas Highway Department suggested speed zone Ordinance
of 40 MPH on the new Loop 114 during the constructinn period from
the West City Limits to the East City Limits. Motion carried by
Alderman Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle , and Benedict voting yas with
no noes.
Mr. Robert Hogan, of Henningson, Durham and Richardson, Consulting
engineers and plan ners gave a report on several phases of the study
they had made of the city in reference to the Master Plan they are
making for the Ci ty .
Mayor called a meeting for ? :3� P.?t�. December 10, 1964.
A moti �n by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Huber to give
each City Employee a Ham for Christmas as an appreciati�n of the
years work. Motimn carried by Al�erman Benedict, Pirkle , Huber
and Vandeventer votying yes with no noes.
No further business meeting adjourned .
