The City Council of the City of Grapevine met in a call session
on the above date those present were Mayor Tip Johnson, Aldermen
Kaker, Matthews, and Deacon. Aldermen Harwell and Hayward being
absent.
Water Operint endent jim Hancock explained to the council the need
of a pipe finder and leak detector as the streets have been re-
surfaced, and to prevent tearing the streets up more than nec-
essary if and when a water leak occurs. The cost of this machine
is approximatcly 0095-00, A motion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by
Alderman Matthews to buy this machine, motion carried.
Discussion was given in reference to the laying of a 8" sewer line
from Dellwood Acres to Ball Street, The only feasible way to go
with this line to serve the residence along Ridge Road and the
area thereabouts Is to cross the property of Mr, Harold Lowe, As
nogotlations has failed to secure this right-of-way easement
through Mr. Lwz's property. The City deems it necessary in the
best interests of the Health and General Welfare of the citizens
of the City of Grapevine to condemn this property so as to lay
this 8" sewer line to serv2 the above mentioned area. A motion
by Alderman Deacon, second2j by Alderman raker for the City to
enter into condemnation procedures and authorizing the City to
post any necessary bond that may be required in connection with
this suit, also asking the court to appoint three appraisers
from Grapevine or For Worth Texas. Motion carried by a unanimous
vote.
