The City Council met in regular session on the above date, those present Were Mayor Tip Johnso n, Alderman Matthews, Harwell , Kaker, and Hayward. Aldeman Deacon being absent. The m3nutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read. The Mayor gave a report to the council on what it wi12 take in the way of graveling the area and road around the "Anchor". It will take approximately 25 to 30 loads of gravel . The Mayor was authorized to go �ahead and have this area graveled. • Chief of Police, Everett Scott,� has resigned effective April 15, 1961 , and asked for a vacation starting April 15, 1961. Council disapproved this vacation period as vacations starts May 1 ta October 1 of each ye�r after an employee has worked a year for the City. Th.e council �s plans at the present, for the existing S. Main Street to be abandoned as their will only be a few feet between the prESent Main Street and the new proposed Main street will probably be zoned for commerical purposes. Council recommended that all utilities be placed underground along Loop 10 and proposed S. Main St. Mr. Hugh Millican was to be written a letter advising him to contact the General Contractor and the Insurance Co. as this claim has been referred to them some time ago. A street dedication was presented to the Council , dedicating an additonal �Ot on the south sfde of Walnut Street from Ruth to Eckley by the Presbyterian Church. This was tabled and the three Trustees of the First Presbyterian Church was to be asked to meet with the council at their convience at some regular meeting night and discuss this street dedic��.ion. A motion by Alderman Matthews, seconded by Alderrtlan Hayward in reference to the proposed 6" sewer line to be put in Block 8 of Dellwood Acses by the Deacons will be increased in size to a 8" line with the City paying the additional cost between a 6" and 8" line. Motion carried. A motion by Alelerman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Harwell that the City�s books for 1961 be audited by a different firm, motion carried. Applicants for Garbage wvrk was gone over; James B�rnes and Lewis Christian was hired at �250.00 per month to work on the Garbage truck. They were to be talked �to and explained to each man ,just what the City will expect them to do. Aiso Mr. John Powers a'rars to be - talked with in reference to taking the �ob as s}�pervisor of the Garbage pick-up service. , A list of the business housets with reference to ,just what each one is paying for garbage pick-up service now and a list of' each business house that is not payi�hg for garbage service thru the City. t � 6 � .
