The City Council met in regular session on the above date those
present were Mayor Tip Johnson, Aldennan Matthews, Kaker, Deacon,
Harwell and Hayward.
Minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved.
Several citi2ens met with the council to express their views on
paying for garbage service . Council informed each person if they
will submit a complete statement c�f their income and expenses and
sign a statement that are not fin�ncially able to pay $1 .50 per
month for garbage service, they will go over these and if deemed
a hardship case some arrangements will be made. �
The following is a list of person who say they are not able to pay
the �1 .50 per month for Garbage will be given this service and a
credit will be given them tit� apply on their bills.

A committe from the D.�ethodist Church met with the Council to
explain and ask that the Colored pe�ple be brought into the City
Limits of Grapevine. They estimated 37 houssts that were willing
to come into the City Limits of Grapevine. The Council informed
this committee after the committee presented a petition signed '
by approximately seven colored ped�ple, that they would have to
secure the proper petition and have a legal description of their
property and signed before a Notary Public before the City could
take any action on this.
Discussion vJ�s given on running water lines to MrsBerryts property
and Mr. and Mrs Mike Albano �s place. A motion by Alderman Deacon
to stand by the original agreement of running a 100 � for each
connection. The cost will be �30.00 for each of the four connections
for the Berry�s and Albano �s plus the �70.00 tapping charge and also
a �10.00 water deposit to be put for the meter. And for Robbins and .
Thweattts they will pay the cost of the line over the 200f the City
will run for the two connections plus the �70.00 tapping fee for each
Hnd the �10.00 meter deposit, this was seconded by Alderman Harwell ,
motion carried. Deannextion of this property was not approved by
the City Council.
A motion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Harwell to adopt
a resolution calling an election to be held in the City Hall of the
City of Grapevine, Texas, on the 24th day of June , 1961 , on the
following proposition: /P 6�-�
'�WHEREAS THE City Council is contemplating curb and guttering
of the City Streets and desires an expression from the Citizens
of the City of Grapevine befon�e passing this ordinance pro-
viding for Curb and Gutters improvements in the City of �.
Grapevine, Texas, providing the method of payment of such �

improvements and the assessment to be made on the property
improved; the method of estimating the probable cost thereof,
as well as the method of assessing taxes against the property
and fixing a lien upon the property providing for foreclosure �
of the improvement lien and the procedure to be employed in
foreclosure proceedings, �s a�thorizEd by the Constitution
and laws of the State of exas. " :
Motion carried.
The Cost to the City for opening Eckley Street south to the
Railroad would be:
Preparing street for black topping @�5.50 per foot �1 ,292.50
To make Railraod crossing 600.00
To buy lot from Leslie Hill in �unshine Harbor 1 ,200.00
. Preparing street for black topping in Sunshine Harbor 660.00
Curb � Guttering in Sunshine Harbor 300.00
�4,052.50
_ Mr. Joe Box to pay �1 ,292.50 one half the cost of preparing the
street to the Railr�$d for blacktopping and to pay for curb and
guttering on the east side of Ec�ley to the Railroad. A motion
by Alderman Harwell , seconded by Alderman Deacon to open Eckley
street ta the Railroad only at this time �X�XR���§�3�(�X •

with the Presbyterian �s dedicating this street to the City now.

Secretary to write a letter to the Presbyteriants asking them to ,
dedicate a 50 � right-�f-way for the e$tension of Eckley from
Walnut street south to the railroad and would like the dedication
or an answer b�r oi� bef�'r.eo£he 20th of June 1961 .
A motion by Alderman Kaker to raise Mrs A. B. Allen�s wages from
�150.00 per month to �165.00 per month to compensate for the •
additional hours she will work, effective June 1 , 1961 , motion
carried.
A motion by Alderman Harwell , seconded by Alderman Hayward to
raise Mrs Jordan�s wages from �250.00 per month to �275.00 per
month, effactive June 1 , 1961 . Motion carried.
A motion by Alderman Kaker to send Delinquent tax notice � s to
each person that has not payed th��r tax �s, seconded by Alderman
Deacon, motion carried.
A motion by Alderman Kaker, seconded by Alderman Hayward to take
bids on a two ton Air Conditioner to be put in the City Hall ,
motion carried .
