The City Council met in regular session on the above date those

Hayward. Alderman Kaker being absent.
Mrs Webster and her brother, owner of Lakewood Ares, met with the
council asking that the city go into a sewer refunding contract
with her in developing Lakewood Acres. The construction of a
sewer lift station and sewer service lines would cost approximately
25,000. to 30,000. in order to :erve this area. The council
informed Mrs Webster that they woild try and give her an answer by
next meeting night, August 15, 1961 .
The water line on Dove Road going North is a 1" line and it is not
of sufficient si2e to serve any additional resideits. A new line
larger in size would hawe to be 1$yed from Lucas Dr. , down Hilltop
or Worthington and then out Dove Rei. which would involve several
hundred feet. The council decided it would not be advisible at this
time to lay this line due to the cost.
Mr. Bob Nichols gave the council a brief run down on operating the
water filtering plant. He estimated the cost of operation as
follows: A man on duty 8 hours a day, Cost of the chemicals would
cost approximately l.00 to 5.00 per day, and the power cost wouid
run approximately the cost of the operation of the wells at present.
Mr. 1Vichols ask that the city purchase enough chemicals now to
test the plant before finl acceptance is giren to the contractors.
A motion by Alderman Deacon , seconded by Alderman PJlathews authorizing
the piuchasing of approximately 500.00 in chemicals to test the '
