Those present wer� MayOr J6hns�n , Alderman Kaker, Harwell, Matthews, �r�d Ha�rward. A1dePmar� Deacon being ab��nt. Th� minutes of the pr�vio�us meeting w�,s read and approved �s rcad. Mr. Jimmie Saunders met with the Counci2 asking permission to fill in the ditch�s around his property so he might cui?b and �utter. He ad�rised that Mr. Davis was in agreeaent with this and want�rd curb and gut6ering also. This property is located at the corner of Bzll St. and Texas St. The council approved this. An appliaation for rezoning approximately 16.905 acres in the E. Moore Survey from District "A" to District "J-K" for Wick�s Lumber Co. The application had been approved by th¢ Zoning Bo=rd on December 1 , 1961. A motion by Alderman Haywa�rd, �econded by Alderman l�atthews to approve this zoning change. Motion carried. The fruit stand alang West Northwest Highwa� across from Norris Graham�s place was discassed and the Council eo�tld not find any city laws that the fruit startd was violating, after the temporary tent is removed. Personal property tax wi21 be assessed an this property January 1 , 1962. A motien by Alderman Ka.ker, seconded by Alderman Harweil to accept Mr. D. W. Adams resignation effective January 1 , 1962, and to give Mr. Adams a month�s pay without deductions, also a letter �F appf��e�at�oi3�'fof*�'h��s long and lo�al service to the City �ras to be sent to him signed by the Mayor. Motivn carried. Garbage service for B 8 D Mills was tabled until next meeting. A motion by Alderman Harwell, �econded by Aldermat� Hayward to keep the Accident Insurance policy on the Police Department in force until something better could be worked out. Motion carried. A rais� in salary for Jim Barnes was discussed but no raise in sal�ry was permitted at this time . e Fire Chief Greener ask the council if it would�alright for the Fire Department to try to raise enought money to build a new Fire Station and place it on the City lot at the Corner of Main and Texas �treet. Th� co�ncil gave their approvai for this. A motion by Alderman Harwell ta give each city employee and each member of the Fire Department a Christmas preser�t not to exce�d �5.00 for each, such as a ham or turkey. J. B.
