Harwell, Doil Dalton, Harold Kaker, �cting City Secreta�y Jim Hancock, also present were A�ldermen elect Travis Mathew�;y Edward C. Hayward and W. Floyd De�con. Oath of office was taken by the following incoming �ldermen, W:. Flcayd Dea�con as �tlderman Place No. 1 I�illiam H. Kaker as �lderman Place No. 3 Travis Mathews as �iderman Place No. 4 �dwareF C. Hayward as Aldermasn Place No.S Minutes of the meeting of �pril 19, were read and approved. � letter a�ddressed to the Gity �ouncil ffom- the Zoning board of adjustments recommending Block S1C1 in t�. F. Leomrd �urvey be changed from 2B residential to G Commercial with a 24 foot set back from Wall Street to building line was read and discussed. Alderman Kaker motioned that the adjustment be made as per the recommendation of th� �onin� Board of Adjustments. Motion seconded by �lde�-man Hayward and passed by aye vote by all. I�illard Jordan was present with a letter signed by several citizens requestiAg elisination of an offensive condition caused by the keeping of goats, dogs and horses existing at 311 Jenkins Street. Alderman Kaker motioned that the letter be forwarded to Mr. W. Ll Bre�wer of Tarr�nt �ounty Health Dept. f or proper action. Motion seconded by Alderman naywarc� aand passed with an aye vote by all. After discussion on the need of cleaning up the City the Mayor proclaimed May 21 st through May 28th as clean up time. � letter and a copy of a minute order addressed to Mayor Johnson from the Texas Higway Department proposing to the City of Grapevine and Taerra�nt County a spur connection from present Staate High�vay 121 in the City of Grapevine , South to proposed �tate H'ghway 114 by pass was read and discussed. On a motion by �lderm�n /�aker and a second by Alderman De�con and a aye vote by all the fo�lowing Resolution of acceptance was passed. � RESOLITrION AUTHORIZING THE AG�EPTANCE OF A PROPOSAL Or • THE TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMBNT TO DESIGNATE A SPUR CON* NECTION FROM PRESENT STATE HIGHWAY 121 IN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE SOUTH TO PROPOSED STATE HIGHWAY 114 BY PASS. WHEREAS, i� is deemed necess�ry that a spur connection from present S'tat�� Highway 1 n the Gity of Grapevine south to proposed S:tate Highway 114 by �� is necessary for future traffic requirements . WHEREAS, The Texas Highway Commission by minute No. 47658 ���5�� ' April 25, 1960, has proposed to the City of Grapevine and �arrant County a spur connection from present S-tate� ighway lZl in the City of Grapevine, south cto proposed S'tate Highway 114 �b�t �a�.ss and when this spur and the relocation for �tate� Highway 114^f�ie south sidle of Grapevine have been completed and opened to traffic that loop lo in the City of Grapevine from present State Highway 121 east along Dallas Road to present S�tate Highway 114 be relinquished to the City . of Grapevine for future maintance. ;' € � NOW �-IEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS THAT: The City of Grapevine accept the previsions of this Texa� High- way Department minut� order N0. 47658. Army Engineer District inquiring as to the status of the 1�. C. Ha�cs contract in Silver La�.e park Area was read and discussed. Alderman Kaker motioned that a letter cancelling the contract between the City of Grapevine and 1�. �. Havrs as of the lSth of May be sent to Mr. Haws by Registered Return Receipt Requested mail. Motion seconded by Alderman 'arwell, and passed by an aye vote by all. �fter discussion of the Band Boos�ters Club keepin� old news papers in the old school bus shed it was decided to write a letter to the Band Boosters Club requesting the shed be cleaned up.
