H. Kaker was elected N?ayor-pro-tem on a motion by Alderman Dalton j and second by ulderman Shelton. � 2 I�ayar Tip Johnson appainted D, R. Hranitzky as acting Cr�rpr�ration � � Judge to continue in that capicity until such time as regular. ap- � pointment is made. Qlderman Kaker moved that the appointment by + the Mayor be confirmed; motion secanded by Alderman Graham and passed. . Recreational Center ( Pool Ha22 } and its operation was discussed but n.o official actian was taken in the matter. Nr. Burton Trice, president, and other members of the Haltom City Water Board appeared to present a proposal that the City of Grapevd�ne 3 �join with the Haltom City Water Di �trict in providing for a joint ! . urater filtratian plant at the Grapevine Reservoir, The proposal was j taken under �tuay but na action taken at this time. ' , � � Fire Chief Greener presented a request that the Police radio sub- station located at Mrs. Thannast residence be converted from a single � { police} frequency to a duel ( Police 8 �ire) channe2 frequency � � operation with the costs of such canversion being charged to the Fire De artment Purchases Budqet. Esslin�er of the Southwestern States Tele- I phone Company appeared to request that the City Council grant the � i Telephone Company a new franchise or pass a new gross receipts � ordinance a�hich would apply to the phone company only. Certain items such as improved repair service , inter-city dialing, in- F�:; creased availability of one party lines, up-gradina of all serv- � ices, time of franchise , failure of company to file the required � report of gross receipts, inaccurate reports, proposed chanaes , in existina qross receipts ordinance were discussed.
