Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grapevine � was held on August 18, 1959 with the following memCers present. �y A�layor Tip ?ohnson; Aldermen Doil Dalton, �ldermen Al Har�vell, , Aldermen R. F. Shelton, Aldermer� Har�ld Kaker , City Secretary � Jim Hancock. I M�_nutes of the meeting of July 21, 1959 were read an ap��roved. i Nlr. William P. Esslin�er of the Southwestern States Telephone � Company presented a franchise o.rdinance for the Council's � consideration. The Council disapr�roved of t he twenty fiv� year (2.5) term of the franchise and also wa��ted it stipulated that in the i event state statutes all_owed��increase d•n gross receipts precentage the City would not be bound to the 2% ��utlined in the cont��� , of the tranchise. It was finally decided that the Lity Attorney, June Welch, would re-write the franchise to be submitted tor ' approval at � later date. � Discussior�S'were held pertaining to trai� ice problems on '�Jest + College Street and East Worth Street. The traffic on the following streets be restricted to a maximum speed of 25 miles per hour except the portion of said street which shall be classif ied as school 2one and trafric in said school �one shall be restricted • to a maximum sp�ed of 15 miles per hour.
