HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-12-03 Regular Meeting Regular meeting of the City Council of the Cit� of Grapevine , Texas, was held on December 3, 1957, with the following �em- berg present: Mayor Joe D. Clark; Alderme� Doil Dalton, R. T. Eidsmn, Norris Grahaffi, Wm. H. Kaker, � R. F. Shelton; Secretary � Hugh Millican. Min�tes of the meeting of November 5, 1957, were read and apprmved. ( Eidson) Alderman moved that the City of Grapevine contribut� to the (M57-61) '� Firements Relief and Retirea�ent F�nd on behalf of any fire- I man who has qualified for r�tirement by serving his 20 years !, on the Fire Department but who has not attained th� required age for retirement; said contribution shall be in t�e same , amount as contributed on behalf of oth�r firemen. Motion was � seconded by Alderman Kaker and passed. �� City* Council re,jected all bids submitted for fencing the three �I lots owned by the Utility Department due to all bids price� (57-62) � so �ubmitted were greater than the sum of money allocated Bor the pro,�ect. As alternate, authorization was given to secure ; bids on the fencing of each lot individually; Mayor shall i have th� suthority to let the contract for fencing to the low and best bidder. The following Ordinance was introduced and adopted on a motion by Alderman Kaker and Second by Alderman Eidson: I AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THAT PREMISES BE KEPT FREE ��57-19� , OF TRASH, LIUP,BS AI�iD DEBRI S, WITHIN THE CITY OF � GRAPEVINE; PRESCRIBING RULES GOVERNING TfiE BURN- ' � ING OF TRASH WITHIN THE C4RPORATE LIMITS; AND PROVIDING A PENAL TY. Sil.ver Lake Enterprises, Inc. , pre�en�ied plans fmr developing (M5'�-b3) the area under lease at the Grapevine Lake; Alderman Kaker motred that the plans be approved by the City Council , sub�ject to fir�al approval by t�ie Corps of Engineers; Motion seconded ; by Alderman Shelton and passed. Addition Alleys in Starr Addition � Church Street from State Highway 121 south to railroad � East part of Barton Street between W. Texa� and W. Worth in order to obtain an even right-of r�ay line. ; � � � �M57-65) Council approved a tax ad�justment to be made for Lot 12, � Block 107, College Hts. Addition for the years of 1953, Y 19�LI-, 1955� 1956 E� 1957 due to an error in valuation ifl ' 1953 and subsquence years. Settlement payment shall be '� based on a corrected valuation of $ 650.00 as recommended �, 6 by the Tax Asses�or-Collector. Motion for approval made � by Alderman Eidson and seconded by Alderman Shelton. � (M57-66) Request for a street light at the intersection of Walnut and Eckley Streets was read. Motion by Alderrnan Eidson and second by Alderman Dalton approving the request was adopted. (r�57-b7) Budget for the year of 1958 was pre�ented f'or discussion; adoption was tabled until a special meeting on December 17, 1957.
