Clark; Aldermen M. B. Austin, R. T. , Eidson, & R. F. Shelton; Secretary Hugh Millican. Aldermen ' ,Toe �ox and E. M. Pair were absent. Resolutions adopted: M56-63 Work Policies to be used by personnel in the employment of the City of Grapevine, Texas Sick Leave� All personnel have three days leave per year . with pay when certificate showing that the employee � has been under the care of a physican is presented. Christmas holiday: All personnel have two day, with pay, holiday at CYiristmas. The days should come as follows: the day preceeding and the day following Christmas � Day with Christmas Day making a total of three days at Christmas. If the Christmas Holiday should f all on Saturday or Sunday, the two additional days to be chosen by each worker. Annual Lea.ve: Police personnel, because of their six-day work week, to have two one weekleaves with pay, to be worked out as to time at which the weeks should come with the Police Chief and the Police officer$ � mutually agreeing. � ,:; All other employees have one week leave, with pay, � and which week shall be taken at the time of the s employee's choosing except that the City Secr�tary � and his secretary shall take theirs at a time when � the City work shall be least pressing. � Work Day: Work day for the secretary to the Cyty Secretary � ' shall be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with one hour •� off at noon. � Work Week: Work week for the secretar� to the City Sec- � retary shall be Monday through Priday each week � except that if wo�k is in such volume on the first - of each month a Saturday morning may be used. Salary of secretary to the City Secretary: Sinc� no - increase has been made in the salary of the sec- retary to the City Secretary since her employment began several months ago her salary shall be raised $ 5.00 per month to include November 1956. M56-64 Be it resolved that the authorization be given for the pay- ment of $ 1,796.00 for 1956 Ghevrolet patrol car purchased from Hudiburg �'hevrolet Co. M56-65 �e it resolved that payment of � 74.05 to Quick-v,ray Urocery and Hardware for one 16 gagge shotgun be approved. I2ESGLUTION N0. 56-10 � RESOLUTIUN SETTING SPEED LIMITS ON STATE HIGHWAY 114, STA'I'E HIGHWAY 121 , ANU STATE LOVP 10 AS AUTHUKIZED IN ORDII�'ANCE NU. 54-8, REGULATING TRAFFIC ON 'II-IE STREETS ,. OF THE CITY OF U`RAPEVINE, TEXAS. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 54-8, regulating traffic on the streets of the �ity of Grapevine, Texas, authorizes the City Council of the City of Grapevine to set the speed limits on the streets within the said City based on en- gineering and traffic investigations. WHEREAS, the State �ighway Department, at the request of the City Council, has made an engineering and traffic study of State highway 114 and 121 and State Loop 10 . (Uallas Road) and has made recommendations as to the � s�eed limits in these areas. WH.EREAS, Ordinance No. 54-8 provides that it shall be prima facie unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle at a speed in excess of any speed so declared when signs are in place giving notice of such speed limits. I�TOW THEREFORE f3E IT RESOLVED �3Y THE �CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF GRAI'EVINE, TEXAS , THAT: Section 1. . The following sections of streets shall be zoned for the speed limits as indicated: A. On State Highway No. 114 (No�cthwest Hi�hway) : 1. Beginning at the west c�ty Limits line at Dove Road and extending eastward to the City Limit� line at the east boundary line of the W. C. Lucas Addition - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 50 mph 2. Beginning at the City Limits line west of Scrib- ner Street anci extending eastward to a point 475 feet �ast of Scribner Street - - - - - - 45 mph 3. Beginning at a point 475 feet �ast of Scribner Street and extending 1,400 feet eastward to a point lU5 feet east of v. Starnes S�reet - - 35 mph 4. Beginning at a point 105 feet east of N. Starnes Street and extending 1 , 500 feet eastward to a: point 545 fee.t east of Dooley Street - - - - 40 mph 5. Beginning at a point 545 feet east of Dooley Street and extending eastward to the City Limits line - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 45 mph B. On State Highway 121: 1. F3eginning at the west City Limits line at Ball Street and extending easterly to a point 110 feet west of Church Street - - - - - - - - - 40 mph 2. Beginning at a point 110 feet west of Church Street and extending eastward and nort}iward to the inter- section with State ►�igh�vay 114. - - - - - - - - - - - 30 mph , i C. On State Loop No. 10 ( Dallas Road) : 1. i3eginnin� at the intersection with State Iiighway ' 121 and extending east�vard a distance of 3,400 ' f eet - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 40 m�h Section 2. These regulations shall become effective upon the errection of sibns indicating such speed zones. Section 3. This resolution, not being a penal ordinance in itself need not be publistied to be effective but shall be effective as provided in section 2.
