HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956-06-05 Regular Meeting Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grapevine was held on Juiie 5, 1956 with the following members present: I�ayor ; Joe D. Clark; Aldermen M. B. Austin, Joe Box, R. T. Eidson, E. M. Pair, & R. F. Shelton. �ayor appointed Alderman Shelton to record minutes of this meeting in the abstsence of the City Secretary. M�nutes of the meeting of May 1, 1956 were approved. , Motion by Alderman Box that the City employ Mr. Clyde �a.rshal to ° � �9 do the legal work to annex three cErtain areas ad�acent to the �� City of Grapevine for a fee of � 350.00 if all three areas are y annexed; �50.00 is to be deducted from the fee for each such � tract not annexed. Motion seconded by Alderman Austin and passed. Al�erman Eidson moved that the City paq up to � 140.00 for the , �S�- 3o expenses of the Fire Marshal and two Firemen to attend the fire- men's meeting in Edinburg, June 12-1�. Motion seconded by Alderman � Austin and passed. � Al�erman Box moved that John Frank Baze be hired as Chief of Police on a trial basis for three months at a salary of � 300.00 ` �1S��3i per month, effective at the discretion of the Safety Cpmmittee. � �otion seconded by Alderman Austin and passed. i ��_3y Alderman Pair moved the the City employ R. L. Richardson as Citp Patrolman a� a salary of �1+5.00 per month. Mothion seconded by ' Alderman Austin and passed. , Alderman Eidson moved that the City pay A. L. Alcierman Box moved that the ordinance pertaining to the election � �5`_3s of City Officals be referred to the voters for approval at the � : next City Election. Motion seconded by Alderman �idson and passed. Alderman Eidson moved thet a 25.00 raise be approved for J. L. Hancock to be effective July �, 1956.
