M. Cosnahan; Alderman Joe Box, J. J. Daniel , ; Bill Guest and R. F. Shelton; Secretary Hugh Millican. Candidates for City Offices, Joe Clark, M. B. Austin, and R. T. ; Eidson were also present. i ' PJlinutes of the meeting of March l , i955 were read and approved. ; � Mr. John Hemley, Chairman, and Mr. John Crabb, Secretary of the ; City Planning and Zoning Commission presented a resolution of the Commission which recommended the enactment of the rules and ; regulat�ions governing subdivisions . 1. Alderman Daniel moved the adoption of the following Ordinance: � AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE SUBDIVISION OF LAND WITHIN AND NEAR THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS Motion was seconded by Alderman Guest and passed by vote, 5 0. � (Complete copy is contained in Ordinance Book as No . 55-2. ) ; The election officials submitted the returnes of the City Election held April 5tih, i955, as follows: ' For Mayor Joe Clark 78 votes �� K. IN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR OF i955, AND PROVIDING CERTAIN I DISCOUNTS FOR TIMELY PAYMENT OF SAID TAX AND - INTEREST FtiND PENALTIES FOR DELINQUENT PAYMENT OF SAID TAX. Alderman Guest seconded _the motion which passed 5-0. ( Ord N� 55•• µ) Alderman Guest moved the adoption of the following Ordinance : AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX OF SEVENTY FIVE THOUSANDTHS OF ONE PERCENT ON EACH ONE � HUNDRED DOLLARS VALUATI�N OF TAXABLE PROPERTY SITUATED WITHING THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS � . FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR OF i955; PROVIDIPIG THAT THE REVENUE FROM SAID TAX SHOULD BE USED TO PAY THE INTEREST DUE ON A CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATION GF THE CITY TO THE UNITED STATES OF AIvIERICA FOR WATER STORAGE SPACE °IN THE GRAPEVINE RESERVOIR; PROVIDING THAT THE R£VEi�1UE COLLECTED FRCM SAID TAX IN EXCESS OF THE INTEREST DUE ON SAID OBLIGATION AS THEREI�V PROVIDED; FURTHER PROVID- IP1G THAT ALI.. REVEPJtJE� R£MAINING AFTER PAYII�NT BY THE CITY OF ALL INTE�EST AND PRINCIPAL DUE OT! SAID CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATION SHALL BE PAID OVER INTO THE CITYtS GENERAL° FUND; AND PROVIDING CERTAIN DISCOUNTS FOR TIMELY PAYMENT OF SAID TAX � AND INTEREST AND PENALTIES FOR DELIQUENT PAYMENT OF SAID TAX. Alderman Daniel seconded the motion which passed 5-0. (Complete copy is contained in the Ordinance Book No . 55-5) I Alderman Box moved that the City proceed to advertise for bids o for water and sewer work in Section fB� Sky Harbor Addition, �SS' 1 reqkiring a performance bond. Alderman Daniel seconded the motion which passed by vote . � Bids for a new pick-up, 2 ton 'with heater were as follows : t Tom Maggard Motors (Ford 6) $ 1 ,307 .00 Melvin Smith Chevrolet 1 ,21�_2.50 Alderman Pair moved that the pick-up be purchased from Melvin ���-r� Smith Chevrolet Co . IUNotion seconded by Alderman Daniel which passed by vote , 5-0. ; Alderman Box moved that a resolution be drawn expressing �� ���-� appreciation for the work done by Mayor H. M. Cosnahan and retiring Alderman J. J. Daniel and Bill Guest during their � � Meeting of April 5th, 19�� � ' terms as City officers.
