SPEED ZONE AMENDING ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANIENDING TITLE 9, CHAPTER 3;
SECTION 1; SUBSECTION G OF THE CITY CODE OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE� TEXAS SO AS TO FIX THE
PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS ON THE STREETS AND
HIGHWAYS OF GRAPEVINE: PROVIDING FOR A PENAL-
TY FOR VIOLATION; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE: AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas
has found and determined it necessary to fix the speed limits
in the City of Grapevine; and,
WHEREAS, Section 167 and 169 of Article XIX, R.C.S.
6701d, Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways, provides
that whenever the governing body of the City shall determine
upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation
that any prima facie speed limit therein set forth is greater
or less than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found
to exist at any intersection or other place or upon any part
of a street or highway, with the City taking into considera-
tion the width and condition of the pavement and other circum-
stances on such portion of said street or highway, as well as
the usual traffic thereon, said governing body may determine
and declare a reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit there-
at or th ereon by the passage of an ordinance, which shall be
effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are
erected at such intersection or other place or part of the
street or highway, now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED By the City Council of the City of
Grapevine, Texas: THAT,

Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investiga-
tion heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Sec-
tion 167 and 169 of Article XIX, R.C.S. 6701d, Uni.form Act
Regulating Traffic on Highways, the following prima facie
speed limits hereafter indicated for vehicles are hereby
determined and declared to be reasonable and safe; and such
speed limits are hereby fixed at the rate of speed indicated
for vehicles traveling upon the named streets and highways,
or parts thereof; and Title 9, Chapter 3, Section 1; Sub-
section G of the City Code of the City of Grapevine, Texas
is hereby amended to read as follows:

(1) From Station 1231+78 (Intersection of Loop 382 and
S. H. 114, East) Northerly 1.084 miles to Station
1289+00, at 55 miles per hour.
(2) From Station 1289+00 (1.084 miles North of Inter-
section of Loop 382 and S. H. 114, East) Northerly
0.867 mile to Station 1334+76, at 45 miles per hour.
� ` (3) a. From Station 1367+0'2 (Intersection of Loop 382
and S. H. 121, Main St. ) Westerly 0.624 mile to
Station 1400+00, at 35 miles per hour. .
b. From Station 1373+00 to Station 1383+00 shall be
zoned at 30 miles per hour when signed for school
crossing, 35 miles per hour at all other times.
(4) From Station 1400+00 Westerly 0.602 to Station 13+72
(West City Limits of Grapevine, being also the City
Limits of Southlake) , at 50 miles per hour.
II.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined in any sum not more than two hundred
($200) dollars.
III.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in confliction here-
with are hereby repealed.
IV.
If any section or provision of this chapter shall be declared
invalid by account of competent jurisdiction, such adjudica-
tion shall not affect the remaining sections or portions of
this chapter.
