AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 3, SECTION
11 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS
SO AS TO ADJUST THE FEE FOR RECONNECTION, AND PRO-
VIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS;
I.
THAT Title 7, Chapter 3, Section 11 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
7-3-11: DISCONNECTIONS: Meters shall be read monthly and
the customer notified in writing of the amount of the water
consumed or furnished and the charges due from the customer.
Such notice shall be sufficient when sent to the last known
address of the customer and if within twenty (20) days
after the date of the bill, the amount due for water, sewer,
and sanitation services is not paid, a fee 10% of the gross
bill, but no less than $5.00, shall be added to the bill
and service shall be discontinued and shall not be renewed
to such customer until the full amount of the said bill has
been paid in addition to said fee. Where water has been
cut off from any customer on account of nonpayment for water
and/or sewer and sanitation furnished, the Water Department
shall not permit water and/or sewer and sanitation service
to again be furnished to the delinquent customer at that
address or at any other premises until the full amount of
such delinquency and the fee mentioned above shall have been
� paid. Failure to pay any charges assessed under this Section
within twenty (20) days after rendition of a bill shall
serve as notice to discontinue water and/or sewer and sanita-
tion service.
II.
Should any part , section, paragraph, sentence, clause or
phrase containe d in this ordinance be held to be un-
constitutional , such holding shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portion of the ordinance, but in all
respect shall remain in full force an d effect .
