HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-10-06 Regular Meeting�. �.� �T�. -�_ v _ _ ... _ ' • � Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grapevine was held on October 6, 1953 with the following members present: `" j � Aldermen Joe Box, Bill Guest, E. M. Pair, & ft. F. Shelton; � ! Secretary Hugh Millican; Attorney Tom French. � In the absence of both the Mayor and Mayor pro-tem, Alderman j R. F. Shelton acted as chairman of the meeting. Minutes of the preceeding �eeting were read and approved. Council expressed approval of the State Highway Departmentt�s , installation of an additional flashing beacon at the intersection of State Highways 121 & 114. i�ith this approval, i� was stated that it was the opion of the members of the Council that this was not a solution to the traffic problem at this intersection and that they would be happq to meet with the Highway officials at a later date to discuss the matter. Motion by Bill Guest the the City Secretary receive applications ,I for the position of Assistant Water & Sewer Supt. was seconded by �! Joe Box and passed on vote. Alderman Bill Guest made the motion the Firemen be given identification cards indicating their membership in the department. Such cards are to be at Cityts expense and dulp signed by the Fire Chief. Motion was seconded by Alderman Box and passed on vote. Contract between the City of Grapevine and the Department of the Army for the storage of 1,250 acre feet of water in the Grapevine Reservoir was received signed by the proper authorities. Request for street lights at the intersections of: � 1) Worth & Eck�ey 6) Vine & Terrace 2) Bellaire & Loop 10 7) Vine & Old Arlington Rd. Bellaire & Nash $ Nash & Ar 3) ) •11 lin�t�n R,d. �.)
