HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-11-03 Regular Meeting ,.TT --a—� ., . +: a � i � � i � -;� Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grapevine was ` held on November 3, 1953 with the following members present : Mayor H. M. Cosnahan; Aldermen Joe Box, Bill Guest, J. J. Daniel, � and R. F. Shelton; Secretary Hugh Millican. � Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Bills on the following page were read and approved. Discussion was held between Mr. Floyd Deacon and the Council concern- ing the dontract for water storage by B & D Mills. Alderman Daniel move� that the following items be incorporated into a supplementary , agreedment; motioned seconded by Alderman Guest and passed: 1) Filling of the tanks are to be under th e supervision of the City Water Dept. , 2) The gate valve through which water is discharged from th e tanks is to be sealed by the Water Dept. , 3) Stored water is to be made available to the City for fire ' fighting purposes when and if needed in this or any other location, !�) '�he capacity of the tanks are to be certified by the City Engineer, 5) When water is wasted (not for fire fighting purposes ) a �� minimum IIharge of �15.00 is to be. charged, I i, 6) The total charge for water is to vary proportionaly as the regular water rates. � Mr. Tip Johnson proposed that the City employ him for street maint�nce work; cost to the City for maintainer and operator at � �$.00 per hour and gravel furnished at �1.00 per yd. . Motion by � i Alderman Daniel, seconded by R. F. Shelton, that the Citp accept Mr. Johnson's proposal with the limit�.tion of $�1,000.00 maximum cost , was passed bp vote. The Mayor appointed Alderman Daniel to supervise the above work. Alderman Box moved that invitations be extended to the North Texas Water Works and Sewage Association to hold their monthly meeting in Grapevine on their next open date, Motion seconded by Alderman Guest and passed. Alderman Guest moved that action be taken by the City Attorney and Court Clerk to bring about proper disposition of pending Court Cases. Motion seconded by Alderman Shelton and passed. Alderman Shelton moved that the election for issuance of Bonds to finance �r�ater Works and Sewage improvements be called at the next regular meeting and at the proper and necessary papers be on hand for passing.
