APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
GROUNDS MANAGEMENT SERVICES
City Council to consider approval to renew an annual contract with VMC Landscape
Services for grounds management services.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is limited to the budgeted amount by each department for an
annual estimated budgeted amount of $1,700,000.00.
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid was advertised in the Fort
Worth Star Telegram on November 24, 2010 and December 1, 2010. The contract was
for an initial one-year period with four, one-year renewal options. If approved, this will be
the fourth and final renewal.

Due to the complexity of this contract, a pre-bid meeting was held with three vendors
attending. Staff received one bid from VMC Landscape Services. A committee team
independently evaluated the best value bid on the operational plan, work history,
references, equipment and vehicles. The recommendation of the committee was to
accept the best value bid from VMC Landscape Services. VMC Landscape Services has
agreed to renew the contract with no increase in pricing.
Staff recommends approval.
