SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A
UTILITY BED TRUCK
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution for the purchase a 2014 or F-450
utility bed truck from Sam Pack's Five Star or through an Interlocal Participation
Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buyb car d).
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding fortis purchase is currently available in account 325-48910-312-13-0015
(Capital Equipment/Machinery Purchase Fund/Motor Vehicles) for an amount not to
exceed $47,767.00.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal participation
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buyboard) as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Sam Pack's Five
Star Ford. The Fleet Services staff and Purchasing reviewed the contract for
specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the
best product and pricing for meeting the needs oft City. The Interlocal Participation
Agreement satisfies all bidding requirements under the Texas Local Government Code.
The Parks and Recreation Department received approval to purchase a Ford F-450
Utility Bed Truck to replace a unit on the Vehicle and Equipment Replacement List for
FY2013 Budget. This vehicle meets the specifications required and is equivalent to meet
the existing vehicle.
