SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A
FLATBED DUMP TRUCK
RECOMMENDATION:
its Council to consider approval of a resolution for the purchase a 2014 For F-450
flatbed dump truck from Sam Pack's Five Star For through an Interlocal Participation
Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buyboard).
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding fortis purchase is currently available in account 325-48910-535-13-0020
(Capital Equipment/Machinery Purchase Fund/Motor Vehicles) for an amount not to
exceed $36,357.00.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal participation
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buy board) as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Sam Pack's Five
Star Ford. The Fleet Services staff and Purchasing reviewed the contract for
specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the
best product and pricing for meeting the needs of the City. The Interlocal Participation
Agreement satisfies all bidding requirements under the Texas Local Government Code.
The Public Works for Drain Utility Department received approval to purchase a F-450
Flatbed Dump Truck to replace a unit on the Vehicle and Equipment Replacement List
for FY 01 Budget. This vehicle meets the specifications required and is equivalent to
the existing vehicle.
Staff recommends approval.

Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true correct
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of a 2014 For d F-450 flatbed u r ck from Pack's Five Star Ford through an
Interlocal Participation Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing oo r tip
( u oar ) for an amount not to exceed $36,357.00.
Section 3. That the City r, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps

Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from n after the date of its
passage.
