A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
2013 CITY OFFICER AND CHARTER AMENDMENT
ELECTION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, there came to be considered the returns of an election held on the 11th
day of May, 2013 for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials and
consideration of a Charter Amendment proposition relative to Mayor and Council term
limits, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at
said election 3,300 valid and legal votes; and
WHEREAS, each of the candidates and proposition in said election received the
following votes:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was
given in accordance with law; and that said election was held in accordance with law; and
that the following named person was duly elected to the office indicated:
Council Place 3 Mike Lease
Council Place 4 Darlene Freed
Section 2. That the said above persons are hereby declared duly elected to said
respective office, subject to the taking of the oath and filing bond as provided by the laws of
this State and the ordinances of this City.
Section 3. That the Charter Amendment proposition relative to Mayor and Council
term limits, as submitted to voters based on a petition accepted by the City Council on
October 16, 2012, failed to receive a majority of the ballots cast needed for approval.
Section 4. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of
its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 21st day of May, 2013.
