Environmental Improvements
The estimated delivery from Environmental Improvements is 12 -14 weeks and as warmer
weather approaches (to insure public safety) there may be a need to have three blowers
on line to properly treat the wastewater. Due to the estimated delivery time, staff placed
the order with Environmental Improvements, Inc. in order to receive and install the blower
before the warmer temperatures could create any danger to public safety.
Staff recommends approval of the resolution to ratify the purchase of the blower from
Environmental Improvements, Inc. in the total amount of $24,976.00.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, TO RATIFY THE PURCHASE OF A
DIRECT DISPLACEMENT BLOWER FROM
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS, INCORPORATED
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to purchase a direct displacement blower
described as:
1 Each Blower Model 74106 Hoffman, Gardner Denver; and,
WHEREAS, due to compatibly with existing equipment, Environmental
Improvements, Incorporated is the sole provider of the described equipment: and,
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of
Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (a) (7) (D) to purchase items that are available from only
one source due to captive replacement parts or components for equipment; and,
WHEREAS, in order to preserve and protect the public's safety, the City of
Grapevine, Texas Staff felt it was in the best interest of the City to place the order with
Environmental Improvements, Incorporated to insure delivery within the time specified by
Environmental Improvements, Incorporated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine ratifies the purchase of
the direct displacement blower from Environmental Improvements, Incorporated for a total
cost not to exceed $24,976.00.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the dates of its
adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 20th day of February, 2007.
