HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2015-016RESOLUTION NO. 2015-016 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE A TORO HDX-D UTILITY VEHICLE AND A 5040 SAND PRO RAKE THROUGH AN ESTABLISHED COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102 to enter into an Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with other qualified entities in the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance is a qualified purchasing program as authorized by Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas has established a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance and wishes to use established contracts meeting all State of Texas bidding requirements; and WHEREAS, the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance has an established contract #120535 for Grounds Maintenance Equipment with Professional Turf Products, L.P.; and WHEREAS, The City of Grapevine's Golf Course has a need to purchase a new Toro HDX-D utility vehicle and a 5040 sand pro rake to replace older equipment; and WHEREAS, all legal prerequisites for the adoption of this resolution have been met, including but not limited to the Local Government Code and the Open Meetings Act; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby declares that the approval of this resolution is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase of a Toro HDX-D utility vehicle and a 5040 sand pro rake for the Grapevine Golf Course from Professional Turf Products, L.P. through a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance for an amount not to exceed $41,969.30. Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the purchase of said equipment. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 3rd day of March, 2015. William D.
