Recently, this system has failed several times causing some 911 equipment to fail. The failures have required maintenance immediately after every power interruption. Staff recommends approval of the resolution to ratify the purchase of the UPS equipment from Power Factor, Inc. in the total amount of $36,283.99. M RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, TO RATIFY THE PURCHASE OF TWO UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SYSTEMS FROM POWER FACTOR, INCORPORATED AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to purchase two uninterruptible power supply systems described as: Qty Description Unit Price Total 2 Each Powerware 9355 UPS Systems $16,035.29 $32,070.58 1 Each Parallel Tie Cabinet $ 1,978.14 $ 1,978.14 2 Each CAN Bridge Cards $ 399.20 $ 798.40 2 Each Connect UPS Network Cards $ 255.20 $ 510.40 1 Each Upgrade Startup Service $ 926.47 $ 926.47 Total $36,283.99 WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (a) (2) to purchase items necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the municipality's residents; and WHEREAS, in order to preserve and protect the public's safety, the City of Grapevine, Texas, Staff felt it was in the best interest of the City to place the order with Power Factor, Incorporated to insure delivery and installation of the UPS systems. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine ratifies the purchase of the UPS Systems from Power Factor, Incorporated for a total cost not to exceed $36,283.99. Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 20th day of March. 2007.
