The u oil sub-committee responsible for citizen appointments to the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee n the nior Citizens Advisory Board I like to expand citizen membership of each board. Resolution No. 2011-39 established the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee and e Committee's five member positions: animal welfare organization representative, licensed veterinarian, Animal Shelter Staff member, county r municipal official n Grapevine citizen. The Senior Citizens Advisory r st lis by Resolution No. 2000-39, and amended in to increase t rs r . Presently, the visa Board s a membership of nine members comprised six citizen members and one member each representing GRACE, the Housing Authority and nior Activities Center. The proposed resolution would increase t o r from six to seven citiz n members, making l of ten voting rs. The new citizen member appointed in 13 would initially serve a one year term and subsequent appoint is would be for two year terms to balance the board r appointment process. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2011-39 THAT ESTABLISHED THE ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE BY ALTERING THE MEMBERSHIP OF SAID BOARD AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, it is the considered belief and opinion of the Grapevine City Council that certain aspects of City Government functions in a manner that best serves the needs of the community when interested citizens participate and assist in the formulation of policies; and WHEREAS, the Grapevine City Council wishes to alter the membership of said Board to increase the membership from five to six members. , T BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS.- Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble are found to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated here-in as if copied in their entirehy. Section 2. That Section 4 of Resolution No. 2011-39, approved and adopted by the City Council on June 7, 11, is hereby amended to read as follows: "That the Committee shall be appointed by the City Council and composed of six members including at least one licensed veterinarian, one county or municipal official, one person whose duties include the daily operation of an animal shelter, one representative from an animal welfare organization and two Grapevine citizens. The Committee shall meet at least three times a year and will act upon the majority vote of its members." Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of its passage. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2000-39, AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 2003-19 AND NO. 2005-28, THAT ESTABLISHED THE SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD BY ALTERING THE MEMBERSHIP OF SAID BOARD AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, it is the considered belief and opinion of the Grapevine City Council that certain aspects of City Government functions in a manner that best serves the needs of the community when interested citizens participate and assist in the formulation of policies; and WHEREAS, the Grapevine City Council wishes to alter the membership of said Board to increase the membership from six to seven citizen members. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble are found to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated herein as if copied in it entirety. Section 2. That Section 3.a of Resolution No. 2000-39, as amended by Resolution No. -1 June 17, 2003 and Resolution No. 2005-28, adopted June 219 2005, is hereby amended to read as follows: 19a. The Board shall consist of ten members, seven of whom will be appointed by the City Council as regular members and three ex- officlo members representing the Senior Activities Center Advisory Council, Grapevine Housing Authority, and GRACE Board of Directors. All regular members must be residents of Grapevine. All ten members shall be voting members." Section 3. That then citizen member appointed in 2013 all initially serve a one year term and subsequent appointments to this citizen member position shall be for a 2 year term. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 4th day of June, 2013.
