SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE SALE OF CITY
SURPLUS PROPERTY
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider a resolution declaring used brass water meters as surplus
property and authorizes their sale through public auction.
BACKGROUND:
The City currently has used brass water meters as surplus ready for auction due to age
and condition of the meters

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY
AS SURPLUS AND PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORIZATION
TO DISPOSE OF USED BRASS WATER METERS AT
AUCTION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine, Texas is in
possession of used brass water meters that are no longer used and are of little or no
value to the City and are described in the list designated as Attachment "A ".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That all items described in Attachment "A" to this resolution are hereby
declared surplus property.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
schedule an auction for the purpose of offering for sale all items listed in Attachment "A"
and to obtain the highest bid possible for these items.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 18th day of December, 2012.
