Able Electronics
Able Electronics was the one bid that was received and met all of the specification
requirements requested in the invitation. Able Electronics is located in Colleyville and
has provided a quality product to the City in the past. The specifications requested a unit
price for a fully configured computer including startup software and accessories. The
original unit price quoted by Able was $989 each.
To insure that the bid received was competitive; Staff reviewed the same computer
configuration currently under the State Department of Information Resources contract
for computers with Dell Computer Company. The same configuration under the State
contract would be $1,399.
Due to significant parts cost increases to the vendor and to a reconfiguration of the
computer hardware by Information Technology, Able has requested a price increase
from $989 to $1,069. This is a 7% increase. Able has agreed to maintain fixed pricing
for the renewal period.
Staff recommends approval to renew the annual contract with Able Electronics.
