to the various City Boards and Commissions.
Council decided that new applicants would be interviewed by the entire City Council at
special meeting in June. Following the interviews, appointments would be made the fi r1-1
meeting in July.
The City Secretary's Office is currently accepting applications for appointments to t
Boards and Commissions. The deadline to turn in applications is May 29, 2015. 1
Attached is a resolution that formalizes the process as discussed.

WHEREAS, Article 3, Section 3.07 Powers of the City Council of the City of
Grapevine City Charter grants City Council the power to appoint the members of all
created boards and commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the process for appointing
members to the various boards and commissions of the City of Grapevine,
'TI'MEREAS, all legal prerequisites for the adoption of this resolution have be
met, including but not limited to the Local Government Code and the Open Meetin
Act; and I
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby declares that the approval of this resolution
is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITfl
*F GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble are found to be true a
correct and are incorporated herein in their entirety. i
Section 2. That the appointment of Board and Commission members shall bo
d•.- -•i by the following criteria:
a.) All applicants shall submit an application to the City Secretary's Office.
The application shall be standard form for all applicants.
b.) All new applicants shall be interviewed by the entire City Council at a
special meeting.
c.) Formal appointments will be made by City Council at the first meeting in
July of each year.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
