SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RENEWAL OF AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
THE PURCHASE OF PORTABLE TOILET RENTAL SERVICES
THROUGH AN INTER -LOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider renewal of an annual contract to United Site Services through
an existing interlocal agreement with the City of Fort Worth for the purchase of Portable
Toilet Rental Services on an as- needed basis, not to exceed the budgeted amount of
$25,000.

BACKGROUND:
This procurement will be under the Inter -local Cooperation Act, Chapter 791, Texas
Local Government Code that states that any entity participating through an interlocal
agreement satisfies any bidding requirements required under State law.
Council approved the interlocal agreement and participation with the City of Fort Worth
on January 19, 1999 and approved the initial award of this contract for Portable Toilet
Rental Services through the interlocal with City of Fort Worth on January 5, 2010 which
represented a 54% savings over the previous expired contract for portable toilets. (See
attached paperwork).
The City of Fort Worth took bids and awarded a contract to United Site Services on
December 9, 2008. This contract includes two, one -year renewal options. This renewal

is for the second and last renewal period beginning on December 1, 2010 and ending on
November 30, 2011. United Site Services has provided this service in the past with the
City of Grapevine with satisfactory results.
