HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2007-042 RESOLUTION NO. 2007-42 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNATE TO PURCHASE A COMBINATION CLEANINGNACUUMING MACHINE AND TRUCK CHASSIS THROUGH ESTABLISHED INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Government Code, Chapter 791, Sub Chapter B, 791.011 (A) (1) to enter into a cooperative purchasing program agreement with other qualified entities in the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, the Houston-Galveston Area Council and the Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buyboard.com) are qualified purchasing cooperative programs as authorized by Texas Government Code, Chapter 791, Sub Chapter B, 791.011 (A) (1); and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas, has established Interlocal Agreements with the Houston-Galveston Area Council and the Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buyboard.com) and wishes to utilize established contracts meeting all State of Texas bidding requirements; and WHEREAS, the Houston-Galveston Area Council has established a contract with Aquatech, Inc. for a combination cleaning/vacuuming machine at a total cost of $105,907.13 and the Local Government Purchasing Cooperative has established a contract with Grande Truck Center for a truck chassis at a total cost of$53,643.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase of the combination cleaning/vacuuming machine from Aquatech, Inc. through an established contract with the Houston-Galveston Area Council for a total of$105,907.13 and the purchase of a truck chassis from Grande Truck Center through an established contract with the Local Government Purchasing Cooperative for a total of$53,643.00. The grand total of both purchases shall not exceed $159,550.13. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the purchase of said vehicles.
