A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF BENCHES,
TRASH RECEPTACLES AND PLANTERS; DETERMINING
THAT THE BENCHES, RECEPTACLES AND PLANTERS
ARE AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID
CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to purchase the following items from Paul
E. Allen Company, Inc.
51 Each Benches, 8' Green $47,685.00
5 Each Benches, 4' $ 3,775.00
6 Each Trash Receptacles $ 4,728.00
8 Each Planters $ 4,216.00
1 Each Ash Urn $ 334.00
1 Each Freight Charges $ 1,200.00
Total $61,938.00
WHEREAS, the benches, trash receptacles and planters being purchased match
existing products on Main Street and the Paul E. Allen Company, Inc. is the exclusive
distributor of the existing and proposed products to be purchased and as such is
considered a sole source under Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B,
Section 252.022 (a).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of the benches, trash receptacles and planters as listed above for a total not to exceed
$61,938.00.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of said products.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 6th day of November, 2007.
