A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF A LIBRARY
CHECK-OUT SYSTEM INCLUDING HARDWARE;
DETERMINING THAT THE NETWORK IS AVAILABLE FROM
ONLY ONE SOURCE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS AND
DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to purchase the following hardware from
Checkpoint Systems, Inc.
1 Each ILS Open Plus Self-Checkout System $ 9,995.00
1 Each Discmate Unlocking Unit $ 4,599.00
1 Each Installation and Freight $ 750.00
Total $ 15,344.00
WHEREAS, the hardware being purchased will only work with existing equipment
and as such is considered a sole source under Local Government Code Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (a).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of the Self-Checkout System as listed above for a total not to exceed $15,344.00.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of said maintenance agreement.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 6th day of November, 2007.
