36TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
(CDBG) PROGRAM — CONTRACT APPROVAL
City Council to consider adopting a resolution approving the Tarrant County contract with
Whitewater Construction for Base Bid A in the amount of $138,197.00 for the 36TH Year
Community Development Block Grant waterline replacement project, authorize staff to
forward the approval recommendation to Tarrant County officials, and take and necessary
action.
FUNDING SOURCE:
CDBG funding is available for this project.
BACKGROUND:
This project consists of the replacement of an existing 8" cast iron waterline with a new 8"
PVC waterline with appurtenances in Vine Street over a four block area between Ball
Street and Pine Street. These improvements will contribute to the upgrade of the area by
providing improved water quality and better fire protection.
There were a total of 10 bidders on this project. The bids were as follows:

T he low bidder, Whitewater Construction, has been identified as an acceptable choice for
this type of project. Staff recommends approval.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, APPROVING THE 36" YEAR
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
PROJECT CONTRACTOR AND CONTRACT PRICE AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, The City of Grapevine City Council is approving the hiring of
Whitewater Construction as the low bidder for the Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) 36th Year Project; and
WHEREAS, The City of Grapevine is approving the bid amount of $138,197.00
submitted byWhitewater Construction for the 36 �' Year CDBG Project; and
WHEREAS, The City of Grapevine accepts the construction time on the project
will be 60 days.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas, approves the
terms as set forth above concerning the CDBG 36th Year Project to be submitted to the
Tarrant County Community Development Division for approval by the Tarrant County
Comrrmissioner's Court.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
