A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF IRRIGATION
CONTROLLERS AND PARTS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR THE MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is in need of purchasing irrigation
controllers and parts for the City Irrigation System on an as needed basis; and
WHEREAS, Interspec, Inc. is the only known vendor who can supply replacement
controllers and parts that are compatible with the existing irrigation system; and
WHEREAS, sole source procurements are listed as an exception to the normal
bidding procedure under Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section
252.022 (a).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the
establishment of an annual contract to purchase irrigation controllers and controller parts
from Interspec, Inc. on an as needed basis and in accordance with the attached price list.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 1st day of April, 2008.
