A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNATE TO PURCHASE
RAW WATER PUMP REFURBISHING SERVICES FROM
PIERCE PUMP COMPANY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas requires raw water pump refurbishment
services to refurbish two raw water pumps and motors at the City Water Treatment Plant;
and
WHEREAS, Section 252.022 (a) (7) (D) of the Texas Local Government Code
provides for an exemption from the normal bidding procedure to purchase captive
replacement parts or components for equipment; and
WHEREAS, Pierce Pump Company has disassembled the pumps to determine the
parts and components necessary for refurbishment of the pumps and motors and
submitted an estimate for the work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the
refurbishment of the pumps and motors by Pierce Pump Company in a total amount not
to exceed $25,081.29.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of said services.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
adoption.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of December, 2006.
