A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE NORTH
CENTRAL TEXAS AREA, AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION
IN THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL OF
GOVERNMENT'S CALL FOR PROJECTS FOR
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, COMMITTING TO FUND
THE 20% LOCAL PARTICIPATION REQUIRED UNDER
THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FUNDING
PROGRAM; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the North Central Texas Council of Governments has issued a
Sustainable Development Call for Projects; and
WHEREAS, Sustainable Development allows people to drive shorter distances
by allowing them to live close to their jobs, to historically developed areas, and regional
rail corridors; and
WHEREAS, Sustainable Development is a positive step in the evolution of
development that addresses the region's capacity constraints and air quality issues; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine supports Sustainable Development and has
adopted zoning regulations authorizing these type of developments under the Mixed
Use Zoning Classification; and
WHEREAS, the North Central Texas Council of Governments' program to fund
transportation and pedestrian infrastructure supporting and enhancing Sustainable
Development provides encouragement for these types of development throughout the
North Central Texas region.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble of this resolution are true
and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City of Grapevine supports Sustainable Development
within the North Central Texas area.
Section 3. That the City of Grapevine has established a Mixed Use Zoning
Classification intended to encourage Sustainable Development.

Section 4. That the City of Grapevine has a private developer committed to
the development of a tract within the Area of Interest that falls under the description of
Sustainable Development.
Section 5. That the City of Grapevine is authorized to participate in the
Sustainable Development Call for Projects issued by the North Central Texas Council of
Governments.
Section 6. If the City of Grapevine's application is approved for funding by the
North Central Texas Council of Governments, the City agrees to provide the funding for
the required 20% local match.
Section 7. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date
of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 17th day of January, 2006.
