HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2006-044 RESOLUTION NO. 2006-44 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, CREATING A CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT BY A MUNICIPALITY LOCATED WITHIN A COUNTY WITH A POPULATION OF MORE THAN 5,000 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, Chapter 363 of the Texas Local Government Code (the "Code") provides for the creation of a Crime Control and Prevention District by a municipality located within a county with a population of more than 5,000; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas, is located in Tarrant County, Texas, being a county with a population of more than 5,000; and WHEREAS, the Code requires that seven persons residing in a proposed Crime Control District be appointed as temporary directors of a proposed district; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to initiate those steps required for the proposal of a Crime Control District for the City of Grapevine, subject to a confirmation election as may later be provided. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated herein above are true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference, as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That a Crime Control and Prevention District composed of the entire corporate limits of the City of Grapevine is hereby proposed. The following persons, all of whom reside in the proposed district, are hereby appointed to serve as temporary directors of such district: William D. Tate Ted. R. Ware Sharron Spencer C. Shane Wilbanks Clydene Johnson Roy Stewart Darlene Freed Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage by the City Council.
