Consider approval of the minutes of the October 18, 2012 meeting and take any necessary action.

The Golf Course Advisory Board of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular session on this
17th day of January 2013 at 5:10 p.m. at the Grapevine Golf Course, 3800 Fairway Drive, with
the following members present:

CALL TO ORDER
Danny Langley called the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m.

ITEM 1— WEBSITE SALES
Russell Pulley stated that the website sales were over $6,000 since we had begun the online
store. It is updated constantly. He stated that they are several items that we are working on for
the website such as a flyover of each hole, a survey on a golfers experience at the Grapevine
Golf Course, and an online tee sheet. He also stated that Michelle Isbell has been sending email
blasts through the website and we have it so that people can sign up online for shop tournaments
and to join the Gold card or GRIN programs.
ITEM 2 — M_ARKETING GOLF COURSE — DFW GOLF SHOW BOOTH
Russell Pulley stated that the Grapevine Golf Course will have a booth in the DFW Golf Show to
be held March 8-10, 2013 at the Irving Convention Center. He and Walter Green will be at the
booth for the 3 days.
ITEM 3 — MARKETING GOLF COURSE — HOTELS
Russell Pulley reported that a plan to contact 15 area hotels will be completed by the end of
February 2013. There will be a contact person from each of the hotels.
ITEM 4 — GOLF GALAXY REPORT
Russell Pulley reported that he had a meeting with a representative from Golf Galaxy and
discussed how we can work together. We will be referring our customers to Golf Galaxy for any
full club repair service and for re -shafting of clubs. Mike Lease thanked Russell for taking the
time to meet with Golf Galaxy.
ITEM 5 – GRAPEFEST GOLF TOURNAMENT
There were two guests present – Bob Snoddy and Bryan Humphreys. Danny Langley had been
talking with the GGA in regards to the scholarship fund. Bob Snoddy asked that the Grapevine
Colleyville High School Golf Scholarship Fund be considered as the beneficiary of the 2013
Grapefest Golf Tournament. After a brief discussion, Mike Lease stated he will discuss the
possibility of changing the date and who the beneficiary will be for the 2013 Grapefest Golf
Tournament.
ITEM 6 – UPDATE FROM MERLIN TIELKEMEIER ON COURSE MAINTENANCE
Merlin Tielkemeier updated the Board on the maintenance that was being done and what will be
done on the course over the next few months. He stated that there would be new pin flags with
the Grapevine logo put into use in the spring. During the winter months, maintenance will be
done on the equipment, clearing out the native areas and working on dressing up the ball washer
areas. He stated that the greens were covered only once so far.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
Shelley Ruddick made the motion to approve the , 2013 minutes and was seconded by Gary
Davis.
ADJOURNMENT The motion to adjourn was made by Mike Lease and seconded by Tom
Kormondy.
