SUBJECT_ CONSIDER APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE AND
INSTALLATION OF KITCHEN APPLIANCES FOR THE NEW
CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU HEADQUARTERS
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the purchase and installation of kitchen appliances
from Bargreen Ellingson for the new Convention and Visitors Bureau Headquarters in
the total amount not to exceed $24,785.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are available in the following account 177 - 48840- 017 -350 (Capital Project -
General Facilities/2009 CO — Convention and Visitors Bureau /Buildings).
BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors submitted
quotations. A copy of the quote tabulation listing all pricing received is attached for
review.
This request is to purchase kitchen appliances for the new Convention and Visitors
Bureau headquarters to the lowest responsive /responsible quote that meets
specifications. Kitchen appliances included dishtables, disposers, dishwashers, ice
makers, and sinks. Kitchen was designed by architect with input from staff and
consultant. It contains equipment that can be accommodated in limited space and much
of it is movable.
Of the three quotes that were submitted, Bargreen Ellingson submitted the lowest quote
that met specifications. Pasco Brokerage submitted an alternate bid that was lower;
however, it did not meet specifications.
Staff recommends approval for the purchase and installation of kitchen appliances from
Bargreen Ellingson for the new Convention and Visitors Bureau headquarters in the total
amount not to exceed $24,785.
