HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2002-016 RESOLUTION NO. 2002-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING OFFICIAL THE FINDING AND DETERMINATION AS TO THE POPULATION AND NUMBER OF INHABITANTS OF AND WITHIN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2001 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City Council of Grapevine, Texas, has found and determined that it will be for the benefit of said City to have a revised estimate of the population and number of inhabitants, and that the City make an official finding thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Council has directed that an unofficial census of the population of the City of Grapevine be taken; and WHEREAS, based upon the 2000 Census Report, City building records, and the investigation and review of the City's growth by the Development Services Department, it has been found and determined that the City of Grapevine, Texas, as of December 31, 2001 actually has within its limits a population of 44,390. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Council has officially found and determined, and does now find and determine, that the population of the City of Grapevine, Texas, as of the 31st day of December 2001, is 44,390. Section 2. That the City Secretary is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Texas Highway Department so that they may change the population signs on the roads and highways entering and leaving the City of Grapevine, Texas. Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its final passage.
