HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2000-017 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING STAFF TO PROCEED WITH THE EXECUTION OF A NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENT GRANT TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS FOR AN ORGANIC DIVERSION PROGRAM AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE TO ACT AS THE CITY'S CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE REDUCTION DEMONSTRATION PROJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City has identified needs related to solid waste reduction and minimization; and WHEREAS, funding of the Organic Diversion through Vermi-Composting Program will assist in educating the citizens of Grapevine on vermi-composting; and WHEREAS, it is in the public's best interest that the City apply for funding under the 1999 North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Solid Waste Reduction Grant program in cooperation with and financed through the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters set forth in the preamble to this resolution are true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City endorse an application approved for funding under the NCTCOG Solid Waste Reduction Program and in cooperation with and financed through the TNRCC. Section 3. That the City Council supports the activities as set forth in said application. Section 4. That the City Council directs and designates the City Manager or his designated representative as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection with this grant and the City's participation in the Solid Waste Reduction Grant Program. Section 5. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its passage.
