SCOPE OF WORK:
Host a community wide Strategic Planning Workshop for our local community neighborhood and preservation
groups to update and focus on the state of preservation in Grapevine and to assess current and future
preservation goals, objectives and priorities. This would include publishing a document of conclusions and
outcomes.

METHODOLGY:
Hire a Historic Preservation Consultant to facilitate the Strategic Planning Workshop and meetings. Prior to the
workshop, the consultant will research and gather information on previous and existing preservation programs in
Grapevine and prepare an interview questionnaire for the neighborhood. The consultant will then conduct a
series of community and neighborhood focus meetings with city staff and representatives from preservation
groups to assess historic preservation concerns and goals. An intermediate workshop with the Historic
Preservation Commission will be conducted. A final workshop/presentation of findings will be held with local
municipal leaders, the Historic Preservation Commission and the Grapevine Heritage Foundation, our local
preservation non-profit.
Commissioner attendance at the Texas Historical Commission or Certified Local Government Annual Conference.
ANTICIPATED RESULTS:
The focus meetings and workshop will result in a review of community wide preservation activities, discussion of
past and current preservation issues and goals and objectives for future preservation in Grapevine. This ties in
with the Commission's goal of providing preservation leadership throughout the community and with the Texas
Historical Commission's Preservation Education Training initiative.
