HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2000-048 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-48 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN FACTS RELATIVE TO THE REFURBISHMENT OF AN AERIAL FIRE APPARATUS BY EMERGENCY VEHICLES OF TEXAS; DETERMINING THAT THE REFURBISHMENT IS AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, Emergency Vehicles of Texas is the sole source provider for the refurbishment of an Aerial Fire apparatus currently owned by the City of Grapevine; and WHEREAS, City of Grapevine Staff have been unable to locate anyone except Emergency Vehicles of Texas to perform the refurbishment of said equipment; and WHEREAS, the Staff has deemed it necessary that said Aerial Fire apparatus requires refurbishment in order to protect the citizens and visitors of the City of Grapevine. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the staff to enter into a contract with Emergency Vehicles of Texas for the refurbishment of an aerial fire apparatus in the amount of$186,555.00. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the contract for repairs of the authorized equipment provided in Section 2. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of September, 2000.
