HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2000-056 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF A RADIO FREQUENCY DETECTION SYSTEM FOR THE LIBRARY, DETERMINING THAT THE DETECTION SYSTEM IS AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to purchase the following equipment and software from Checkpoint Systems, Inc as a sole source: Three (3) Intelligent Interrogator Antennae $ 10,500. Intelligent Library Integrated Circuits $150,000. Five Intelligent Circulation Readers $ 9,975. Two Intelligent Circulation Readers $ 3,990. One Portable Intelligent Inventory Reader $ 5,995. One Intelligent Patron Self Check-Out $ 23,995. One Application Server $ 6,000. Intelligent Application Software $ 9,995. One Intelligent Circuit Programmer $ 3,000. Installation Costs $ 1,995. Freight Costs $ 625. Total Cost of System $218,570. and; WHEREAS, Checkpoint Systems, Inc. is the sole provider of the equipment and software listed above. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase of the listed equipment and software for a total not to exceed $218,570. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the purchase of said maintenance agreement. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 17th day of October, 2000.
