A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF CHILDREN'S
FURNITURE AS PART OF THE LIBRARY EXPANSION
PROJECT; DETERMINING THAT THE ITEMS ARE
AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS
AND DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Libra-Tech Corporation, is the current sole distributor for the
Midlands Company; and
WHEREAS, the Midlands Company offers a unique line of children's furniture for
schools and libraries that include copyrighted designs; and
WHEREAS, City of Grapevine Staff have been unable to locate anyone except the
Midlands Company who can provide the same garden theme design that would be
compatible with the Library Expansion theme.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
and installation of the Children's Furniture listed in Exhibit "A" from the Libra-Tech
Corporation in an amount not to exceed $22,812.56.
Section 3. That the City Manger, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of the authorized furniture and installation as
listed in Exhibit "A".
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 9th day of January, 2001.
